design brief
“I have always considered life more important than architecture,” said Oscar Niemeyer. It is precisely that philosophy that inspires this house: a home that does not impose its presence, but blends into the landscape. Set in the heart of the Paraná River delta, the Tree House emerges as a gesture of respect for the land, the water, and the life that surrounds it.
The project starts from a clear idea: lifting the house to protect the ground and embrace the views. This decision not only preserves the terrain, but also allows the dwelling to breathe at the height of the treetops, opening itself to nature without altering it.
Conceived as a retreat for a family of adults and children, the house was designed as a simple, warm refuge in constant connection with its surroundings. The rooms flow into one another and into the landscape, inviting a natural way of living each space, without barriers.
The layout follows an honest, functional design: a primary volume for social use that projects toward the river, and a lateral volume that houses the private spaces. The architecture draws on the traditional constructions of the delta and takes inspiration from Le Corbusier’s five points and Frank Lloyd Wright’s idea of harmony, here translated into a contemporary, sustainable, and experiential key.
The Tree House does not seek to stand out, but to belong. It is a way of life in touch with the essential, where architecture accompanies without interfering, offering comfort, beauty, and respect for its environment.
