MF House

Mansard roofs, moldings, balconies, rusticated stonework, and balusters come together to create a French style with contemporary proportions. The round arches, both on the upper floor and in the galleries, complete the framing of the ornamented architectural volume. The style’s straight lines and symmetries did not prevent the pool from adopting an organic morphology, subtly echoing the river. The floor plan is organized by a central axis materialized by the main entrance; from this axis, the lateral wings branch out to accommodate different functions: to the right, the formal living room and family room; to the left, the kitchen with a daily dining area. In this way, the hierarchy of each space is clearly articulated. On the upper floor are the bedrooms, along with an intimate hall that opens onto a balcony with views to the street. The attic houses entertainment functions, including a bar and a home theater. Elegance and handcrafted details, such as boiserie in every room, preserve a distinctly historic French character, while still adapting to the comforts and technologies of today.
